Meal delivery helped me to not worry about what to feed my family while I was still in bed.

Meal Delivery FAQ
Q: When can I ask for the meal delivery program?
A: Typically the meal delivery program is designed for NEW mothers of multiples (newborns up to 3 months
of age.) Meals are typically delivered for 2 weeks (every other day) from a member volunteering to provide the
meal. If you joined the club when your children are older than 3 months but younger than 6 months then you
will still be entitled to the meal delivery program; the cut off for newborn meal delivery is 6 months of age.
Meal delivery is also designed for families in need during critical life moments such as the birth of another
child, a death of an immediate family member, or an emergency procedure resulting in the mothers’
confinement (such as a hysterectomy, vehicle accident, and others.)
Q: How will I know that someone is in need of a meal?
A: The member in need should contact the Cope/Care Coordinator and discuss the meal delivery program.
The Cope/Care Coordinator will send out an e-mail to the entire club requesting meals be delivered to the
member in need. After receiving the e-mail any volunteering members should contact the Cope/Care
Coordinator to sign up for a date available to take a meal.
Q: What is required for the member delivering the meal?
A: The member should contact the new mother prior to dropping off the meal. The member should gather all
directions and phone numbers to recipients home. Phone numbers are important to contact the member in
case you get lost.
Q: What types of meals should members provide?
A: The Cope/Care Coordinator will send out an e-mail regarding the meal delivery request. Members should
review the e-mail to make sure there are no food restrictions or food allergies prior to supplying a meal.
Once that has been decided then any meal of the members choosing would be appropriate. Examples are
a store bought meal (rotisserie chicken, hot deli foods); take out from any restaurant, pizza delivery to the
new mother’s home, or a homemade meal from the member. Drinks and desserts are optional but are
greatly appreciated.
Q: What happens if I can’t get in touch with the family or I forget?
A: Sometimes you will have trouble getting in touch with the family you are providing meals for. It is
recommended that you try to contact the family the day before providing a meal as to arrange the best time to
drop something off. Contacting by phone may be easier than e-mail as we all know from experience that
mothers of newborns sometimes do not check their e-mails as often as they like. Sometimes it is easier for
both parties to have a meal delivered in the morning or mid afternoon and contacting them early will help
make plans for both groups. If you forget to take a meal please contact the cope/care coordinator as soon
as possible and arrange another time to take a meal.
Q: Who is responsible for purchasing the meals?
A: As a member of CFMOTC it is the individual member’s responsibility and opportunity to provide a meal for
another member in need. We have all needed meals at some time or another and providing meals to
members in need are great ways to pay it forward to another member in a similar situation. Even if you have
never needed a meal provided to your family this program helps us to give to each other of multiples in their
times of need. If for some reason you are able to purchase a meal but not deliver it personally please
contact your cope/care coordinator and they will be glad to deliver the meal for you.
